My Thoughts Behind Writing Hank Habsburg: My Very First Book

My very first book, Hank Habsburg and the Great Explorer of the High Seas, just recently became available as a free ebook through Kindle Unlimited. I wanted to take this opportunity to share a little more about it and my thoughts while writing it.

Hank Habsburg is a young man with wild dreams. He leaves the comfort of his wealthy father’s house to set sail on the High Seas of the Felgodian Empire. The catch is, Hank knows nothing about sailing. 

With the help of his trusty team and first mate Loretta, Hank manages to discover many hidden locations — much to the chagrin of the Most High Governing Body. The Governing Body would much rather keep things under wraps, maintaining their control over the empire and avoiding any creative thoughts. 

While aimed at teens and young adults, most anyone can benefit from the message behind Hank Habsburg. Inspiring readers to challenge the norm and choose a road less travelled, this adventurous tale is a snapshot from my own life.

I decided to pursue art and writing. These are two paths often associated with struggle and a lot of hard work to stay afloat. Still, I feel like this is my calling. Going any other way would feel like Jonah running away from Ninevah. Who knows what God has in store for our futures, and who can fathom the blessing that will come from staying on His path, hard as it may be?

I really hope that the Hank Habsburg series will encourage and inspire you to keep going when things get hard, and to lean on the people God has given you when it would be easier just to give up.
